My friend and I made the 2 hour trek in the freezing fog today to the Great Train Expo in Ft. Wayne, IN.  While I did see some way overpriced Lionel as I do at every show.  I found a vendor with a whole box of 072 and 022 turnours, $8 for the bigger 072 and $5 each for the 022.  I bought the four 072 that I needed for my layout I am building with the intention of coming back for atleast one 022 if I found nothing else.  When I came back, the gentleman and I started talking about my fold down layout I am building.  I showed him my track plan after I had purchased the one 022 I could afford.   I mentioned I would have gotten the remaining two that I needed but I was out of cash.  He told me to grab 2 more so I could build the track plan all at one time.   What a nice gentleman!   Who says good prices and deals are not out there, you just have to be looking for them.   So lots of other postwar Lionel that I would like to have, and I will get someday in the future.   Mike

The shows that I have been to of late have been full of bargains.  The prices on current year stuff are high but my purchases are always on the second tier market.  The amount of overstock, leftovers and surplus on the tables at bargain prices has been staggering. If you shop around you can get 50-60% off.  From my viewpoint the market is absolutely flooded with trains.
