In the past I have purchased these from Boxcar Bill. I'd rather patronize a forum sponsor. Needing two Cruise Commander kits and two Geep sound sets. Have checked the individual web sites of the listed forum dealers on the ERR site but have not seen them listed.

Henning's Trains Tel: (215) 362-2442 sells the entire ERR product line.
Do any ERR resellers give the same level of support as Bill did, knowledge and extra parts one could need to finish a conversion?
ERR will help you regardless of where you purchased the unit!!!
Ken at ERR is very good about providing support, and of course you can ask in the forums as well. I've helped plenty of people get ERR stuff running. As far as Bill, I know a lot of us will miss him, just because he was a great guy and enjoyable to talk to.
I know ERR will answer questions, but I was thinking more along the fact that Bill always seemed to have the extra "parts" that would come up for a conversion, like couplers and tethers and wires, and bulbs and such. I guess when I get there, I'll have to rely on you John to tell me what to get from Digikey/Mouser.
Many of my projects use MTH tether parts, the 10-pin tether with the molded plug works pretty well and has plenty of wires for any conversion I've done. I can buy the matching HiRose connectors from electronics suppliers, so all is good. I also like the Minitronics mini-connectors for some jobs, especially small stuff.
Truthfully, the tethers that Bill had never really grabbed me, they were much too large for my tastes.
I buy the couplers from Lionel, and bulbs/wire are from various sources. I use a lot of LEDs in my work, I buy those in bulk and keep plenty on hand.

John,
Thanks for the heads-up on Hemmings. I did not see the cruise commanders specifically listed there. I will call and order them. I do have a question with the MTH LED lighting and the compatibility with the ERR board. My engines have PS2.0, product # 20-2341. Will the voltages match? If not, what must I do?
You will have to deal with the lighting, the MTH bulbs are 6 volt bulbs, the TMCC standard is 12V bulbs.
I typically change over to LED lighting when I'm doing this kind of upgrade, it's a good chance to do the trick.
I've ordered all my ERR stuff from Western Depot with nothing to complain about.
I carry a full line of MTH parts, and a selected level of Lionel harnesses and wires for conversions. Also have a small selection of K-Line stuff.
It is nice to look at the engine/s your going to upgrade and put your parts list together first. Thinking through lights, couplers and smoke. Any questions, this forum can provide answers.
I agree that the MTP website approach with pictures was nice though. G
Why do those who purchase ERR merchandise not buy directly from ERR? Are better prices available elsewhere?
CA tax.
ERR sells at retail, Bill sold them at a discount, simple math.
So now that Boxcar Bill regretfully is not with us and I don't have to pay CA sales tax, are better prices still available elsewhere, keeping in mind ERR charges only $5 for shipping?

Right now that is the 64 dollar question. So far no luck finding any discounters.

RU sure? Last I looked ERR charges CA tax unless you have a Tax id. G
only if you live in sunny California.
