This July, the Indiana Northeastern Railroad, Little River Railroad, Gramling Locomotive Works, and Fort Wayne Railroad Historical Society are teaming up for the first-ever Railroad Open House in Hudson, Indiana to celebrate the region’s railroad history and the work of the Indiana Northeastern in the local community.
Free to the general public, the open house will feature food vendors, live entertainment, guided tours, and feature the display and operation of historic steam locomotives, diesel locomotives, and Norfolk & Western Railroad business car Roanoke.
Excursions to and from South Milford will be offered with 1940s-era Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive no. 765, short train rides to Stuebenville will feature Little River tank engine No. 1, and trips to Hamilton will be operated with Little River steam locomotive No. 110. Limited opportunities to run a live steam locomotive from the Gramling Locomotive Works will also be available!
