We were on the FEC Coach on that run. They sure worked the old girl climbing Christiansburg mountain! Thank you for posting the video. We didn't spot the American flags on the lights.
On the Elliston straightaway, I was able to spot the crossing where I was sitting waiting for Dad to return home from Williamson WV in 1977. There had been a flood and he was returning to East End Shops with a huge consist of locomotives dead-in-tow. Give me a time machine and that's a moment I would like to be able to relive.
I caught a couple of video snipits that I'll post this evening. At Shaffer's Crossing we spotted the Virginian heritage unit w/ a Southern cab unit. Also, an old RF+P cab unit and a line of Armor Yellow UP units.
