An absolute must see. I stumbled across this shop today. Their train collection is amazing. The history behind some of the pieces is legendary. This is hands down the most impressive train store I have been to. If you happen to be in the San Diego area take a look.

it used to be better, when frank cox owned it, and it was across the street, and a block down, that used to be the place to go,
yes, unfortunately the original Frank the Trainman (Frank Cox) retired in 1981 and passed away eight years later.
the building at 4310 Park Blvd was a classic in itself...
this was the backside of the building.
only the neon sign was visible from Park.
the building has since been razed, but the neon was saved.
the current "Frank" is actually Jim Cooley.
