Interesting indeed. Curious the ALCo lift rings are normally curved u shaped wire. Are the lift rings different for the C430? Also what do you mean by r/r db?

You are correct, I will need to fabricate the lift rings, which I'll have to play with to get looking decent.

R/R is remove and replace, in my shorthand. The Weaver dynamic brake hatch is just a flat piece, so I'll be grafting a much more detailed Lionel hatch from a donor RS-11. The Lionel piece already has the afore mentioned lift rings in place.

Update!

ive finally found a 2-rail, non-powered, undecorated Atlas C-630 to chop up!

I also ordered the Hi-Ad truck side frames from Shapeways (see below) and we are on our way!

I don't know how I'm going to attach them yet, but we'll cross that bridge later. Miles to go before we sleep.
