In response to a large number of brush fires on the Lackawanna main line caused by cinders and the sparks from overheated brakes. The Lackawanna Railroad Fire Chief ordered a special rail car built that can be dispatched and quickly extinguish the fires. The car was built in the Scranton shops and given the number 52, there were three in total made, numbers 50, 51 and this the last one made.
It pulls a special tank car that carries the supply water. It is equipped with a deluge gun at the front and 350 ft of hose line. The pump is a 1500 gpm hale pump. It is stocked with various tools for fighting fires also.
(obviously we all know this car was never made, but a neat piece of fiction)
