In case not everyone has heard, there's a new group dedicated to ALCo and its culture.  Here's what I copied from the Trains News Wire:

President of Western New York & Pennsylvania to address Friends of the Alco Locomotive banquet
ALBANY, N.Y. – The Friends of the Alco Locomotive organization will hold its first annual banquet on April 13. The featured speaker will be Carl Belke, president of the all-Alco Western New York & Pennsylvania Railroad. His topic will be “Alcos and Alco people during my career.”

The Friends of the Alco Locomotive is a group founded by John Mech to enjoy the discussions, sights, and sounds of its favorite locomotive builder. Several meetings are held for the purpose educational presentations during the year.

The banquet will be held at the Shaker Ridge Country Club beginning at 5:30 p.m. The cost is $50.00 per person with semi-formal attire requested. For more information, contact John Mech by email at Jmech2@juno.com.

Jim P.; you're near their birthplace, I bet you're going, I'd love to but that's the weekend we get back from vacation and I bet my wife won't let me...

Are you going?

Thanks,
Mario

Well, darn it, I guess I'll miss that one too, just like I missed the Alco conclave.  And dagnab it, I like lemonade . . .

I guess I'll miss the Fairbanks Mouse and Baldwin Centipede meetings too.

Oh, well.
