the Frisco 100' turntable was moved today from the Stillwater central yard to the Oklahoma Railway museum. Bnsf donated the turntable to the museum 1994. The turntable was originally built in Sapulpa in 1920 and moved by frisco to Oklahoma City in 1929 (you can still read sapulpa on the side) as a replacement for an 82 ft table.
I had nothing to do with the move at all, just really enjoy the museum and what they do. I heard about the route and when it was leaving yesterday and left for work an hour early, as I work a a freight terminal on the other side of the yard.
I was told the weight of the move was around 340,000
