ok, interesting issue. I have a legacy diesel. When reversing the engine the fron t headlight never turns off. When hitting aux2 it does?

That’s probably standard for your engine. Many work that way.
Of course, the actual product number would be useful here...
If it's an older model with the R4LC, it could simply be programmed to be a steamer instead of a diesel.
Interesting, it was the r4lc receiver board. The aux2 button on the cab2 controller would turn the front light on and off. But, direction would not. I noticed the aux 2 will turn off either head or tail depending on the direction of the engine. So, I assume the trial is bad for the front headlight. That Aux 2 removes owed to the lights in another fashion. I did try a factory rest on the bad r4
If the AUX2 button turns the bulb on and off, the triac is NOT bad! Try programming it as a Legacy diesel.

I thought the same thing. Reprogrammed the board. Nada. Replaced board. Everything ok! Went back to old board reprogrammed again . Still issues. Replaced triac - for some reason it all works.
