Check the User's Manual for the #3751 - Santa Fe  = 6-38055, it describes the use of the front dummy coupler for double-heading.  The K4 and the Mikado have the same dummy coupler provision, at least the ones on my layout have them.  Only the LionMaster BigBoy may be missing that capability, if it's like my LM T-1 Duplex, it just has a rotating dummy coupler in the pilot.

The dummy couplers are in the box when new, if you've lost them you can probably get them from Lionel parts.
