I have a few American Flyer Passenger car Window Silhouettes ( That I think are better then Lionels) that I would like to copy on my office copy machine onto the frosted plastic that these originals came on so I can have extras and use them in various Lionel cars. Does anyone know where to by 8 1/2" by 11" Plastic frosted sheets or what the material is actually called and where I may be able to get them from?

Hi Mark, I get mine from a Blueprint supply store. It's a frosted Mylar and it comes in various sizes. It is used to make copies on a blueprint machine for surveyors.

Thanks Tex! I searched the web and found a few sites that might be just what I need.
Years ago I worked for a company in Hillside N.J. not far from the Lionel factory. They at one time printed the silhouettes for Lionel. The material used was called clear calendered vinyl.

Another option is to run your silhouettes off on normal transparency film and then spray paint it with with clear flat: my experience is it turns just a bit frosty on transparent film or the inside of plastic building windows, etc. I did this to repair an old silhouette car for a friend. Several coats worked pretty well to frost it up nicely. Note: some paint's will disolve the ink from the printer - you need to experiment.
