I'm looking for suggestions on a product that will fill my wants.  When searching for product I'm overwhelmed by the many offerings from various companies.  I want a Madison/Manhattan style set of passenger cars that are traditional O sized, rather than scale O, so they will coordinate with post war engines.  In addition I want a full interior that I can add passengers to as I'm just not taken with silhouettes.

The ribbed aluminum passenger cars go great with F-3s etc but just look out of place with a steamer and my grandkids really get a kick out of seeing "real people" in the cars.  Can anyone suggest a product line that will fit the bill, thanks

41Woodie,

I like the MTH 60' PULLMAN Passenger Cars they are actually 17" end of coupler to end of Coupler, and I have used the Green & Black on my Military Trains and the PRR Silvers, on our Civilian Passenger Trains.  They also run on 031 Track without problem. I also have a full set and one add on Car, of the MTH Madison smaller PRR Tuscan Passenger Cars which are O/027, that I have both civilian and military passengers installed in, these smaller Madison MTH Passenger Cars are quite nice also, are heavy and run well.

I think that the 13.5" cars would be the best overall visual choice to put behind post-war engines.  There are a variety of choices available with interiors/seats.  As some posted, the early MTH Railking now known as Rugged Rails offer many roadnames.  The new Lionel versions also advertise the interiors.  Don't forget about the 13.5" cars that were offered by K-Line that later were sold by RMT and now O-Line Reproductions.  These all had nice detail and good lighting.

Ok thanks, hopefully this will head me in the right direction.  I forgot to mention that I'd rather not buy Pennsylvania RR if possible.  Nothing serious against Pennsy but when I was a kid it seemed like every model train car I saw was Pennsy instead of the local Santa Fe, MoPac, Katy, Frisco like I saw every day in my hometown.  Good information
