The York Fairgrounds announced plans to renovate the grandstand. The renovation will include new seating, lighting, and a green room backstage. Once the grandstand is complete, the Verandah and Pennsylvania rooms will be renovated.

This will provide great opportunities for the Eastern Division!

For the record, a “Green Room” is where a performer would hang out before or after an event. It is not one of th EDTCA’s labels.

I’m not sure how any of this effects the York meet. As mentioned they are dropping halls almost every few years. I suspect White will be the next to go.  I really don’t foresee them being able to take advantage of any of these upgrades with the decline in attendance.

Ok got it. Now I understand that the Green Room would be for the performers (and doesn't affect the TCA).

However, @MartyE from what I see, only 2 halls were dropped - Brown and Yellow. Purple was just changed from a dealer to a layout hall. And the fact that the Verandah and Pennsylvania rooms will be renovated probably means that the rooms may look slightly different, but the halls will remain the same in format (Red will continue to be the member hall, Black will be the layout hall). And White may not be the next to go after all - it seems to be doing decently well!

I must be going to a different White Hall.

Regardless I believe those 2 rooms mentioned are more restaurant oriented.  Maybe they'd make good meeting rooms but I don't think they're intended to be trading halls.  There was a gold hall nest to yellow and a green hall many moons ago being behind Blue and Silver if I recall.

Yes - the 2 rooms mentioned are more restaurant oriented and are not intended to be trading halls. The Pennsylvania Room is where the layouts are set up and the Verandah Room is where socials occur (e.g., Standard Gauge group and Marx Show & Tell). The Gold Hall was where the OGR Grandstand Meeting used to be held. The Yellow Hall was an experiment for Fall 2021 and there used to be a Green Hall.

Speaking of the layouts, will the National Capital Trackers be coming back to York? They always have a fantastic display, and their joint ones w/River City 3-Railers (with @Putnam Division) were particularly outstanding.
