I can't wait until Headwaters Junction. You guys will need a large turntable for 765! I wonder how big a turntable they will need for BIG BOY once it's restored!

A 100 foot turntable should do it.

The original 130+ foot turntable is still functional there in Cheyenne.
I didn't read Brody's thoughts as being related...
No way. A Big Boy in Ft. Wayne?! I don't expect it to go east of Chicago, or St. Louis for that matter.

Then I wonder how the one got to Scranton, PA at Steamtown, or to the museum in Green Bay, WI?

Simple. With a diesel or two. Not on its own.

OK, but as big as they are, if it could/can be towed with diesels to some place, then it surely could operate under its own power to those same places,,,,,,,right?
Yes, but it would feel really out of place running on the Chicago Line or someplace like that. Big Boy's home is Sherman Hill.

True, but the 4000 class were NOT actually designed for operation on Sherman Hill. They were primarily developed for operation eastward out of Ogden, Utah on the Wasatch Mountains grades. They were all later transferred to be assigned to Cheyenne working westward.
You need to read more about the UP, especially the book about Cheyenne, WY.
I'm better with eastern railroads. Less familiar with western railroads.
BB: Let the UP Steam Crew get it RUNNING first before worrying about getting it off the UP system.
