I am interested to know how reliable and durable these G-scale battery powered starter sets are from Lionel. Under normal conditions and with care, can these G-scale sets be expected to last for a number of years? They would be for general family enjoyment at Christmas and for 1 or 2 6 and 7 year olds to play with with some supervision to keep the set in reasonable condition for a number of years. Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from the O-gauge forum from those who have some experience with kinds of sets.
