I am planning to build a wooden trestle. What would the best way to transition from lionel Fastract to three rails going accross the bridge? I was thinking Gargraves but don't if it would work and look prototypical (nearly)

I don't know why not. As for the connection between the rails, this is from the Gargraves FAQ.
Fast Track to GarGraves: Use Lionel item no. 6-12040 and GarGraves O Gauge Mating pins item # 801.
Fastrack ties are nearly scale while Gargraves ties are greatly oversized. While not a problem visually when using either track I think putting the two together would clash, especially since it's a bridge and you won't be able to use ballast to blend the two.
You bring up an interesting point here: how can Fastrack users have bridges without ballast?
I am using a Lionel Fastrack trestle set and will (#getaroundtoit) conceal the Fastrack ballast with horizontal timbers to mimic a bridge deck but that will be kind of simplistic and schematic.

The differences in tie width and spacing looks OK to me. I was concerned it would stick out like. sore thumb but, not so much.
