Where does everyone get the best deal on GarGraves Stainless Flex? My local dealer is now charging $12.75 a 37" stick. I think it's only $10.45 on the GarGraves site.

I am looking for the best price on GarGraves phantom tinplate flex track. Haven't found any good deals yet. Good luck with your search.
Trainz
Has anyone bought from Wholesale trains?

I have. They provide good service. I believe the GG track orders are custom from GG though, so you will need to wait for GG to ship them. I think that is the same for Trainz. I think they stock some items, but the the flex track is made to order.
Try here. Regular stainless is $11. Super nice people and they make it in the back.
I agree with John H!
Call us! We can have it drop shipped directly to you from Gargraves if we don't already have it in stock.
Shipping is expensive, probably because of size as well as weight.

My experience is that it's around $20 per case, plus or minus $4. Kind of depends on who you get it from and how much shipping they do. Rates do vary.

Ross Custom Switches has the best price I've seen. $299 a case.

I believe he is looking for stainless flavored, which will be just a bit more costly.
Ah. My bad. Ross is by far the best deal I've found for tinplate but not sure on stainless.
Why Stainless? Are you building outside? I use the plated version and have no issues with corrosion.

If you need some, I would jump on that price, it may not last long. I got my last case from Trainworld for $299 about 4 or 5 months ago, and now they are up $30. Fortunately, I'm done buying track.
Thanks for all the input, I will definitely look into the options.
My basement has some severe water issues and I'm concerned with corrosion. I bought a box of 72 tinplate and it had spots on it when I pulled it out of the box.
How often do you have to clean the tinplate to keep corrosion at bay?
When you buy a case of new track, it still has a light coating of oil from the manufacturing process. If you just clean the oil off the tops of the rails, the sides will stay protected for quite some time. An even better way would be to "weather" it with spray paint.
If you really have that much of a moisture problem, how do you keep your trains from rusting?
I have not noticed any yet, I guess it's just the fear of having to pull it up and do it again.
Although my plan is to dig up the foundation and seal it this summer.
BTW Just Trains of Delaware has good prices $7.80 per stick.
Dumb question for all regarding 37" Gargraves. My layout software (RRTrack) lists it as 37.25", while the Gargraves website only mentions 37". Which is correct?
WB Trainman,
The overall measured length of the steel rails is 37.25 inches, this does not include the length of the three steel track connection pins on one end of this track, Gargraves probably lists this track as 37 inches as a nominal length. I use the tin plated Phantom rail track and never any issues working with this product.
