Well, I've been trying to make a track plan for a new layout that I'm going to build, and I'm stumped.  The layout has to fit in a space of 8x12.  Currently I have 18 Gargraves O-63 curves, 5 pieces of Gargraves Flextrack, 6 O-100 RH switches and 6 O-100 LH switches.  I want the layout to have two loops with an outside loop of O-72 and an inside loop of O-63, or an outside loop of O-63 and an inside of O-54.  It also needs an engine terminal that can fit an MTH single track engine house and a long passing siding or two.  Also a few industrial sidings.  I'd like to see your ideas. I'd prefer that you'd post them as RR Track 5 files, but really anything will do.  Thanks!

I gotta say that is funny  "someone design a layout for me, using the track sections I have, and make sure to post it in a format I can read" lmao

If you have RR Tracks 5, continue to play with it. It's not something that will just happen overnight. Make up a track plan, save it, and then modify it, saving it as different names everytime to keep track of your changes.

If you are using 063 curves or 072 curves then using O-100 switches radius is a bit overkill, as it will use up space on your layout, go to a smaller switch like 072.

Hope you have experience with using Gargraves track, as all three rails are insulated from each other. Also some older Gargraves 072 switches have broken center rail power, what this means is that the center rail power stops at the switch entry point, to get over this you must power up both outgoing center rails(straight & curved) of the switch.

Another feature of Gargraves switches, especially 042, is that you must use a small piece of straight track between two back to back switches and provide outside rail power or you will lose outside rail power. The reason is that on 042 switches the switch leg has a plastic rail on one side for the outside rail. Don't know if that is carried over into the O-100 switches by Gargraves or not.
