Hello everybody ,

I'm   thinking of replacing my Lionel post-war tubular track and switches with gargraves track and Ross switches. Also considering using Ross switches with Lionel tubular track. What do you guys think of the's combinatins?  I'm getting fed up with derailments.

Thanks much , Jerry

I use nothing else but Gargrave track and Ross switches. Looks great, work's great and has good conductivity.

As for the tubular track many people are going back to it for a number of reason and the Ross Tubular switch is also the best match possible. All of the above plus the price is pretty good as well.

Only way to go!  Gargraves makes the best and most affordable flexible track and Ross makes the best switches.  I have some 60 or them on my layout, some powered by ground-throw switch throws, some powered by Z-Stuff switch motors, still others powered by some old, Train America slow speed switch motors and finally a group in the freight yard and branch line area by automotive type choke cables.  Also have several that are "spring" switches;  They stay in one direction until wheel flanges move them over to go through the points.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I am using Gargraves track with Ross switches. I started using Gargraves switches about 7 years ago, but one of my MTH engines would derail on the Gargraves switch so I went to Ross Custom switches. Gargraves and Ross mate up with out adapter pins just use the Gargraves track pins. Close to half my track is Gargraves with Lionel style tubular track. Lionel tubular track is very reliable but their (Lionel)switches since 1995 are real duds(the switches fail in many & new ways)!
