Get Ready For . . . Liberace's Holiday GG-1

For some reason I really like this......maybe a Polar Railroad GG-1 isn't such a bad idea?

Oh why oh why didn't I pick up a scale WbB GG1 when they were being blown-out? Love the paint scheme!

If you ever engage in another unbridled sell-off of all things O scale, I call dibs on that GG1!

Have there been any other fantasy GG-1 paint schemes besides K-Line's very stylish (IMHO) Liberty design scheme that I think was tied to their state quarter series and Williams' pink girl's GG-1?

I am certain there have been many fantasy scheme suggestions. I tried to find the scheme that 645 talked about in the above post. Here is one that I particularly like.

I try to remember that the Polar Express never existed either . . . even in our imaginations, until someone who conceived of a magical connection between trains and the joys of the Holiday season made it so. The GG-1's I have previously collected were the best, scale GG-1's I could find. Knowing the GG-1 is an icon among locomotives makes this Christmas version special for me. I try to keep the scale me and the frivolous me separate. Someone must have envisioned a special connection between the Holidays and trains to create this locomotive.

No...I like it.  nice purchase.  Ought to look really tough come the Holiday season.  It just needis some multi color LEDs on the wreath.

I am a huge fan of red locomotives but don't have a red electric yet.  I always thought a GG1 would look cool in bright red.

Where do you get weathering like that done? So....Arctic.

12 gauge, nah way to fast, a nice hammer will do, I want to enjoy pounding it into oblivion. and maybe the guy who desecrated that beautiful machine. Cannot do that they say. darn! If they do that with a big boy all h-ll would break out.

So, John - a gray Lightning Stripe re-paint would not do either, I take it? Don't hold back.

That GG-1 is awesome. How can you ever go wrong with Santa driving this awesome machine. I give them two thumbs up for having fun and a great imagination to try something different.

Did you see "Amtrak's GG1 That Might Have Been" in the latest Classic Trains magazine? It was a nice paint scheme that never was.

I have seen worse color schemes.

That cascade green and silver bonnet looks good to me. The red lettering needs to be green as well. Anyways, I think it is a Photoshop do.

   You really do push the envelope with some of your GG1's, this however is a GG1 Santa Special, definitely an original one of a kind GG1.  Ya Got to love it!

Peter! I am shocked! then again you do like that Penn Central Mutant railroad. 

I do not mind fantasy if it is tasteful, I have few, DD35 PRR. Transylvania, but GG1s in pink, yellow, Red what ever that was is dang un-American and needs to be stamped out in all four corners of the earth! It was bad enough when they painted those beauties black and put those god awful worms on them!

Now I have said my piece on this matter and I am finished with it! so.

That's a classic Eliot, I didn't know you were such a big GG1 fan. I have seven or eight scale GG1's, mainly Williams, and also a brass Weaver, but I love the crazy Bi-centennial livery, it's really my favourite.
