Getting some scenery done on my layout.

Scenery may "not be your thing"  but you are off to a real fine start!

I took another pic of the cab in place. It was one I dropped about 3 batches ago. The back side was damaged but that did not matter in this case.

The silo is a throwback to “Boy’s Life” magazine as it started life as an oatmeal box. It was covered with Clever model corrugated metal that I printed. I then weathered it with craft paint. I used burnt umber, Pueblo red and raw sienna. After that it was sprayed with a heavy coat of Krylon flat clear acrylic it magically blends all the weathering colors together. The vines are glue and ground foam.

How many of us remember 'Boy's Life'? It was wonderful!  Malcolm, you've done an amazing job here sir. Your painted trees are simply magnificent. Great effect. Overall, extremely nice...

Thank you for all the encouraging comments. I have to admit the blue paint on the backdrop is about 1/8” thick in a few places where I painted over mistakes. I finally gave up and left them as they were. The background trees are done mainly with sponges. This is only about 25% of my layout and it is not finished yet so still lots to go but I purchased a whole gallon of the blue paint.

Great job. I'm looking forward to seeing it as you progress to the other parts of the layout.
