For those of you who have used shower glass for water, what color are you using to paint the underside?

Has anyone found a good source for glass to be cut to size?  I have found a cheap shower door but apparently tempered glass shouldn't be cut so I am back to square one to find a good resource.

You can get the glass cut at a glass shop.  Don't try to "match" the shoreline.  Get the glass cut to a reasonable shape that is close and then build your shoreline out onto the glass.

I would recommend not painting the glass directly.  You can paint wood/foam core/cardboard and place that under the glass.  If you do a gradient paint job and leave a slight gap between the glass and the "bed" of your body of water you can get a nice 3d effect.

I have used an acrylic plastic that had the same ripple as the Aquatex glass.  I was able to cut it using a jig saw using a fine tooth blade on a very slow speed.  I could then do any shape I want including curves.

I also use camouflage green on the underside.

Here is a few shots of my bay using the acrylic glass.

I am unsure of the brand but the acrylic Aquatex, called DP32.  It is .125 thick and can be cut with a jig saw.

I did order it online and it cost me about $100 for a 4x6 sheet.  I find it very reflective and everyone who sees my layout comments on how realistic my water scene looks.

I painted the under of the glass directly and it came out great.  Just do not move the glass too much or the paint will scrap off easy.
