Well here's my first attempt with scenery in over six years.  I got carried away with putting down the foam not thinking about how to glue it. I started with latex paint and then foam while still wet.  It dried and then I added more for texture.  Can I add a 50/50 mix of glue and water or will it take out the "fluff" or discolor?

Nice job is right!   You're doing it right.  Just spray it all with your 50/50 mixture, then let it dry thoroughly (may take 2-3 days).  If there are spots that still don't stay put, spray again. Repeat.

It does "take out the fluff" in terms of touch - it all stiffens up when saturated with glue and then the glue dries - but not visually. It'll look the same as it does now.

Thanks for the help and comments.  I used denatured alcohol in a spray bottle to break surface tension and then glue/water.  It all dried hard and looks the same before glue.

Here's my next project with ground foam.  So far I have brushed on white glue and then stuck on the foam.  Can I use a matte spray finish to hold it all in place when finished?
