Over time, I have seen several photos of GM&O FA1's  I know that they were the first customer for that model, and that at least some of their FA1's had a smaller than normal headlight grille and a "rain drain" (as seen on PA1's and early PA2's) behind the cab door.

 

Were they all like that, or did they also buy some later model FA1's that had car bodies like every other railroad's?

That's because GM&O bought the FA1 demonstrators and the first production units.  The headlight grill was changed and the PA-style trim were eliminated during the first production run. 

 

Other GM&O FA1's were "normal."
