I’m thinking the next 2-rail purchase is going to be some sort of steam locomotive… gotta sell some 3-rail stuff first though…

DCC question:
I have an old NCE D13SRJ decoder left over from my HO days. The interwebs say it’s rated 1.3A continuous, 2A stall. Would that be enough for one of my F units? I would be running it with an NCE powercab system…
I know nothing about that kind of stuff, but offhand, I would guess " yes" . The motors in those units are pretty efficient...

This is a fun repaint project! I’ve got the stripe down the sides done, and the port hole window trim… the fun part is going to be the nose…
I’ve got a great “reference” book, “A Colorful Look at Selected Pennsylvania Shortlines” by Gerard Bernet… on page 13 there’s a picture of #2200 (F7) pulling its train in reverse (nose coupled to the train) with the brakeman standing in the open rear door. I’m seriously thinking about cutting the rear door open and sticking a figure in it… That’s the sort of oddball stuff that draws me to 60-70’s shortline railroading…
Here's a link to the scratchbuilt boxcar thread...

Great Job. The WAG is my favorite railroad. I have not tried a paint job like this. Coming along very nicely.

There’s a guy in the RR club who says he can make the decals if I get him clear pictures…

Decal guy says he should have a “proof” print ready for me to review soon!
