Bruce Leone (FV-Trains) and his wife Chris dropped by Monday afternoon and we had a wonderful tine running trains and just. . .well, running trains!  He brought his gold PE.  I've never seen one and was quite impressed, the scale Berk looks very different in gold (I have one in black) - the small added parts and texture of all the cast-in detail stands out more.  The cars look spectacular.  I was very impressed.  We have the thing moving, too, gotta get to the north pole!

We had a lot of fun!

It sure is a beauty, and I agree with you about the details. Emile was one of the first Forum members to get this engine and he reported the same condition as far as the details standing out. I have both so I was able to also make a comparison. This Gold Edition is something else and the cars are a wonderful compliment.

Thanks for the report Lee, and a Very Merry Christmas to you.

I agree with all this.  It looks very nice.  I just hope that more car types are made but given an unnamed Lionel rep reported that only 200 PEs were made I'm not sure we'll see any more.
