i just saw this post from the California Division of Wildlife. A UP train crew found a Golden Eagle wedged inside the snowplow of a freight that had just arrived in Oakland (I think) from Utah. How it landed in there is anybody’s guess. They pulled the diesel off line and into the shop where a bunch of UP workers removed the snowplow to free the bird. They had already brought in Wildlife people to take care of A363BB5B-722A-4CA6-A219-2FC4965E2BC164A722A1-248C-47B4-B59A-28CCCBE82622C2B1BC54-9B65-4660-8032-C2417E04A763the bird. It was in pretty decent shape (remarkably) and will be released back into the wild after a bit of recuperation. A nice railraod story thanks to some caring people.
