Golden Gate Depot 20th Century Limited Consist

You might try looking at the New York Central System Technical & Historical Society for photos & information on the 20th Century Limited over the years of operation.

GGD did three sets, 1938, 1940, and 1948. First two were pulled by a Dreyfuss Hudson, the last by mostly E8s.

I'm assuming you're asking about the current GGD offerings. Here are a links to timetables, one from 1948 and one from 1951. A few pages in in each is a list of typical cars for the trains (not including head-end cars, such as baggage, mail or dormitory).

The 48 20th Century was pulled by E7's. Construction of the E8 did not start until August 1949.
