The cars are spectacular from the trucks to the interiors and paint/lettering.  That being said, there was a major problem.  Rather than attaching the steps (lots of them, at least 4 per car) they were packaged in each box for you to attach.  Problem is that the factory did not thread the holes for the screws, so you could no do that!  In communications with Scott, he then sent out diagrams as to where they go and suggestions that they be glued on.

Fortunately, most had a pin and a screw hole, so it was not that bad to align them - except for the large steps for the baggage/mail car which had no pins.  For those, I had to narrow the casting to fit them in their place to glue them.  Then I found out the trucks hit them while in 036 curves, so I cut out a short section of the casting to clear the truck.

In addition to the steps, each car has a pair of air hoses and steam lines to be attached to the ends on either side of the coupler.  One had a pin, the other not.  So superglue again.  But when running the cars, it quickly became obvious that these would not work as they interfered with the truck mounted couplers swing in curves.  They would be fine for body mounted couplers.  So, off they came.

Bottom line, they are a magnificent set, well worth the price and are being pulled by my Lionel Century Club II Niagara until the Dryfuss arrives "sometime" late this year.

I'll shoot some photos later this morning.
