Yes, he did! I have one I want to finish for GM&O (one day).
Beautiful!!!! What company produced that high-nose version of the GP30?
Beautiful engine....looks to be an OMI? Lionel just announced the release of a high nose GP 30 in 3R in 2 paint schemes. Apparently powered units only....at $600 I am going to wait for the dummies. The shell can be remounted onto an Atlas Gp-35 2-rail frame with some minor modifications.

Wow! and wow! All of these are beautiful!
Whom did you use for painting, might I ask? (you can email me on the side, if you wish)
Thanks,
- Mario
That's a beauty, Bob. OMI?

That's a great idea! I have some older Proto-2 GP30's that I wanted to set up with fixed pilots and scale wheels. It's actually cost-effective to get some more scale-wheeled GP35's and go with your approach. I'm going to check it out since I have some GP35's already.
I really like the scenery.
Bob,
Not to discount the job done by your painter as it looks great, but as you are a top notch painter yourself, wondering why you didn't finish the piece?

Maybe there is room in the future for MTH or Atlas produce and have a few runs of these GP series. I personally like the low hoods for UP and ATSF as they ran many through Cajon pass. I'd see many many hooked together, at least 6. Not like today with 2 engines in front and one drag. Imagine havine to buy 6 units for a train vs 3.
