I’m in need of grease to lube up my MTH and Lionel engine gears. Suggestions?
My repair guy suggested lucas oil red and tacky #2. Thoughts?
Thanks, Buddy
In my opinion, I would NOT use the Red N Tacky on EXPOSED gears. I prefer the X-L Lubricants thick "oil" for such applications, and only use the Red N Tacky for enclosed gear boxes.
Yes, I was inquiring about the enclosed gear boxes, I should have been more specific. Thank you, I will pick up some red and tacky today then. I was just wondering if anyone else has used it before.
I use the Red 'N' Tacky #2 on all gears, enclosed, exposed, or otherwise. It really quiets down spur gear drive/parallel plate motors - especially the MagneTraction motors.
If you can actually see the red of the grease, it's too much.
