I recently purchased a Toy Train Restoration Products STX-360 Rivet / Wheel press from Henning’s Trains. This was my first purchase with Henning’s and I have to say they earned two thumbs up for service and product quality. I had a few pre-sales questions that I sent via email. I received a reply back from Harry Henning two days later. He had forwarded the email to the TTRP folks and sent along their reply in the response. I placed the order and a few days later the 38lb box arrived – everything was well packed and in arrived in good shape.
A month or so passed before I had a chance to try the press out. I finally had a chance to work with it this afternoon. The press is FANTASTIC – smooth and accurate. I had not done any rivet rolling / pressing previously. I completely rebuilt two sliding shoe trucks, replaced numerous knuckle rivets, replaced armature springs on 4 trucks and replaced the pickup roller assembly on my 6026 tender. There were a few bent rivets and do overs but that is all part of the learning.
