Great Northern EP-5 electric: Dual motors? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Hi folks,

I was just looking through some old catalogues and noticed something. A Postwar Celebration set (#31753) catalogued circa 2006-2008 was headed up by a reissue of the Great Northern double-ended EP-5 electric. The loco (maybe #18383?) is listed as having DUAL Pullmor motors, TMCC and Railsounds 5.0. From photos it does appear that the frame, fuel tank, etc. are different from the older MPC- and LTI-era reissues. Did this loco, or for that matter, any EP-5's made by Lionel have dual Pullmor motors? Thanks!

I wouldn't bet on it. Whoever writes catalog copy for Lionel does little or no

research on the product. That information was probably copied off an F-3

description.
