Yesterday I had a visit from Pat and Jean Marinari. Pat and Jean have been good friends for a number of years. Pat and Jean have an outstanding home layout. I have always rated it the best I have ever seen in the country. It is always great when OGR Forum members stop by to visit. Two more Members to sign my wall.

A cool tradition, Marty, to have all these great guests sign your wall! It must be a 'Who's Who' of the model/toy train community!
Marty,
You're going to need a bigger wall.
Hi Marty
Pat and Jean are wonderful people, I had the privilege of seeing their layout last year. It's amazing just like yours. Two absolutely beautiful Layouts. I'm glad Pat and Jean signed your wall, I had the honor of signing your wall a few years back. I can't remember if I was trying to spray paint your wall,or if it was Ben trying to spray paint the wall. Lol
Thanks, Alex

the kind of problem we all need....
Marty is 100% correct when he says Pat & Jean have the nicest home layout in the country. It's over the top and Pat & Jean are among the most gracious couples I have met in our train world.
Alex, that Ben guy put you up to it. He is a bad man. Make him park down the street from your home when we come to your party.

That's cool Marty, and I agree that Pat & Jean have a great layout. They are incredibly gracious hosts as well when you visit, great ambassadors for the hobby! I always look forward to our next meeting.
Who?!
Pat and Jean are great people Glad to see my name on the wall is shared by some classy people instead of all that other riff raff LOL Cant believe you erased the Jets spray paint
Missed the trip to Pat and Jeans layout because of work hours It is on my bucket list

John, I thought you were going to visit Quincy at some point.
Still in the plans, and I'm going to check with you before I go.
Great people on both ends here (host and visitor) with two entirely different layouts. Both of which are fantastic. Marty has that live catenary and a whimsical, toy train aspect to a lot of his layout. Pat & Jean have an amazingly realistic layout. It's great to see the way different people approach the hobby. I've been privileged to visit both layouts. Who's that Ben guy you're talking about?
Gerry
Marty's layout is fantastic and he is a great host.....cannot wait for my next trip to Boston to visit....Pat & Jean are wonderful people and I am lucky to have made their acquaintance through this great Forum......and, I hope to visit their pike someday....
This was a highlight for me.....Spring 2015.

so Peter...are you really a leftie, or was that the only open spot on the wall?
Which Quincy?
Quincy Massachusetts. GRJ has a daughter who lives there. Quincy is in my county (Norfolk) and a fifteen minute drive.

Much to the dismay of the Dominican Sisters of St Theresa School in the Bronx, I am.

Peter, I remember the grief my left-handed classmates received from the Dominician Sisters at your neighboring school Our Lady of the Assumption. Boy it made me glad to be a righty.
Marty, I've only been to your place once so far and it was one of the nicest days so far in this hobby. Forget about how awestruck I was with your layout. It was the first time I ever saw Lionel tinplate track on such a detailed layout. Besides the catenary I remember being amazed by your bridges. I have to get up there again soon. You and Dotty were fabulous hosts. I greatly recommend a visit.
Mike
Marty,
When I do finally come up for a visit, my signature will be in Green! Not for the color of money, but for the color of some NY football Team.
TED-I have rules.
Wow! Thanks for all the kind and generous comments. Jean & I truly enjoy all the friends we've made through the hobby and this forum.
Peter: If you can ever find the time, our home is open to you - let's talk at York.
Ben: You just need to get some time off from "work". It's only a couple hours drive from Staten Island we'd love to have you and your better half visit.
Marty, the fun begins in about a month.
See you and Dotty at Alex/Dina's party.

I was looking at your site again and this time I looked at the construction photos. I didn't realize your grades looked so steep. May I ask what they are? (max, min, etc.)?
It's great to see how guys built their RR's to help me get motivated. It doesn't seem to work though.
Thank you for sharing that great site.
Joe:
The grades are about 2.8%. Not as steep as they look in photos. Maybe they look steeper because they are all on curves.
I haven't updated the website in almost 6 years. Many buildings have been changed, but the track plan has not.
Yea, Pat and Jean!
