I bought 2 of these bulbs, 1, 200watt & 1, 300watt. Both are soft white.

But are these things supposed to get hot ? I've never paid any attention to this before . I do like their light out put it's much better than the led flood light's I'm using.  2nd question on the 300watt.  If I'm figuring this correctly this bulb draws .25 amps. Can I run 22 of them on a 15amp circuit ?  As bright as they are I may not need that many but want to be sure I don't burn my train building down.

Thanks in advance for all replies.

An exact bulb model as well as a link would help.  I have these in my train room, and they're REALLY bright when turned full up, and they only consume 20 watts.  They get warm, but the fixtures they're in are rated for at least 75 watts, so I can't imagine it being a problem.

FWIW, unless you're train room is REALLY large, I can imagine 22 of these would be overpowering!  My layout is 24 x 12 and I only have six of these over the main layout, there are a couple back in the corner for my yard.

Great Value Model A23. Non dimmable. 3000 lumen 2700K. Sold by Walmart.  It's a big light bulb not a flood light. I am using 2head flood light fixtures. My train building is 32'x40' .

But are these things supposed to get hot ? Yes, LEDS get hot, They have a driver circuit that takes AC and converts to DC, they still have losses, the LEDs and require heatsinks, and so yes, they will get hot. Not the same losses as incandescent but nothing is free.

I don't know what inrush looks like when you turn on 22 of them in parallel, but should be OK.
