Lost some Green marker rhinestones on some postwar Lionel (736/773) Locomotives. What is a good glue to use for replacing rhinestones?

I use E6000, I've found that CA adhesive doesn't always hold them as well.
Thanks John, Any secret to putting them on? Use a tooth pick to dab on the glue? My hands are old now and have trouble picking up small things.
I use a toothpick to just stick a little glue in the hole, then stick the jewel in.
I found replacement stones at a craft shop (e.g., Michael's, Hobby Lobby, JoAnn's, et al) in the jewelry section. I first tried CA, but in fumbling (my hands are getting old, too, pal!) the placement of the stone into the marker cavity, it appeared that the CA reacted with the reflective coating on the back side of one of the two stones I was installing on a PW engine. It ended up having a different 'reflectivity' (sparkle? intensity? ??) from the adjacent marker. In removing it to try another stone, the backside coating stayed with the adhesive, not the stone.
So...
I switched to using a tacky glue...Aileen's. Not as fast drying, but it seems to hold well, dries clear, and didn't seem to alter the stone's appearance.
Maybe it was just a bad stone. I don't know. Anyway, I've since used the tacky glue with success.
FWIW, of course.

I don't doubt that CA might affect the reflective coating, it's pretty reactive stuff.
clear epoxy would work well too.
I too found that CA glue hazed the jewels. I used a pinhead sized dab of clear silicone caulk. Worked great for me. As far as installing them, I used a tiny tiny dab of fun tack on the tip of a toothpick. I pushed the jewel in the hole and then rolled the toothpick to release it from the jewel. Any fun tack that remained I wiped off when it was dry.
I use Testors model glue.
