Good morning,

My wife and I will either go Saturday or Sunday.

One thing about going on Sunday or later in the day Saturday the attendance drops off and you can at least look at the items on display.

Those first few opening hours on Saturday are crazy.

Of course if you are looking for something special it might be gone by a later time or the next day, I will take my chances.

Have a good day !!!!!

Bob,

Sense the show is right over the hill from my Churchill home, I will definitely make it, probably both days, for at least a little while.  I always look forward to this show Harry Neil and some of the other independent vendors make this a decent train show,

along with Andy and his club's train layout for the kids.  It's a nice way to spend a couple days, and if you are lucky, pick up a Train at the trains show special prices.

Heading there most likely on Saturday,

With the weather forecast calling for Arctic temperatures both days it may put a damper on the attendance.

I think the most violence that would show up at this train show will be someone with a baby stroller and "no baby" or a wagon plowing down thru the aisles like a bulldozer looking for that sacred piece of nothing.

I will keep an eye out for you Bob is your photo current ?

Yeah, pretty current.  Well, maybe not so pretty after all.  I'll look for you too, but I may not be able to recognize you amongst the crowd.

Gentlemen,

It's definitely snowing and very cold here in the Monroeville area, hope the Monroeville Train show has a decent turn out for the vendors, I plan on going over about noon time.  Remember it's Valentines Day Weekend guys, maybe your Valentine will get you a new O Gauge Train!

See ya at the show this afternoon.

Good evening everyone,

Made it to the Monroeville show today.

Got there right around lunch time.

Did the usual seek and search for a parking spot.

The show seemed pretty busy.

Made my way over to the Pittsburgh Independent Hi Railers and watched two Lionel Big Boys put on a show.

Lots of folks young and old gathered around the layout to watch this show.

By 2:00 the crowd was starting to thin down so we made another lap around and looked at the items we couldn't get near to before hand.

Found some new tools over in the tool aisle.

Purchased a MTH house to replace the ceramic house at my tree farm on my layout.

Bought a Williams Pennsy Coal Hopper.

Thats about it.

By 3:30 the weather outside was getting quite interesting.

Told my wife you stay here I will go get the car.

By the time I walked to the car I was covered with snow.

Went and had a long meal at Max & Emma's waiting for the weather to break and the plows to get out and get things cleaned up.

Headed home and got home around 6:30.

The wind is just howling here with near white out conditions.

Should be interesting in the morning.

Oh by the way they are having a Cat show (no not CAT equipment) in the back room where the train show overflow vendors and tables and chairs use to be.

Really a Cat show????

Oh well to each his own.

My pix from the show are up over on page 2 of this weekend's photo fun thread.

We noticed steady crowds all day with lots of families.  Drive home was fun, but I've been in much worse.

It was good to see a number of forumites there today!

Also saw lots of new old stock and stuff that you don't see much, like K-Line 21" passenger car sets and aluminum body tank cars.

Andy

Seemed like there were less sellers this time.  We got there around 10:30 and took the shuttle.  Walked right in, but we did the pre-purchase of tickets to save 2 bucks.  The usual suspects were there - 'customer appreciation sale',  'half off listed price sale', 'after Christmas sale'.  The displays were nice, especially the "S" gauge layout - kids were having a great time pressing the buttons.  Good to see a lot of younger kids.  It's always hit or miss - sometimes all kinds of stuff that are at a good price, sometimes nothing that I would want or need.  Always good to get out and smell the ozone>
