My wife and I were able to take the LOTS/TTOS convention tour of the Virginia and Truckee Railroad last week. We rode behind the #18 steam engine and got lots of great pictures and I thought I might post a couple that I liked to hopefully redeem myself. I like how my fill flash setting brightened the headlight and the picture of the engineer with the red dice in the cab is very interesting in my opinion. The railroad is worth visiting and my wife and I want to go again when we can.

Gee..."Oldham County go-fasters" in the cab! (local joke). It has never been running when I have visted (not lately). Do I see two different diesels in the photos? Is that more than a tourist road...why diesels? You rode behind steam?

Yes, I rode behind Steam for the entire length of the line. I observed one diesel pushing an open gondola and open caboose repurposed with seats for people to ride to the short excursion. Beyond that I cannot answer the other questions nor am I willing to guess.

Diane & I did the VT mine train ride probably 30-35 years ago. Very enjoyable. Thanks for the McKeen photo.
Did you score any goodies at the convention?

I did score some goodies that do involve plastic (eek) but also some nice tin. I have included pics of an Ives bridge that is early 19xx? , an MTH repro 260e, and a Lionel metal tunnel. The Dorfan bridge was a total hit with everyone! I will need your help on the Ives unit....tell me what you think.
