Hello. I have a Hafner M10000 clockwork set, it has a light bulb that is powered by a "C" battery; the light bulb is the part I need, it doesn't have a round globe, but looks like it was "squashed". It is a 2.5 volt bulb, and I would appreciate a part number and availability info. Thanks in advance!

Robert Grossman sells a flat face 1.1V bulb that works for the old Joy Line torpedo front locomotive i have.

liking Hafner so much i hate to have to say this, but the M10000 bulb placement looks quite ridiculous to me.  i know it's correct but i just refuse to ruin the look of an otherwise nice looking model and prefer to leave the bulb socket empty.  still a good idea to put in a battery, though.  helps with balance and adds a little weight.

cheers...gary

I have a Hafner engine with the battery light and I noticed that it tends to fly off the track in the curves when a battery is installed.  I think that the C battery adds a mass up high, so the engine is a little top heavy.  The train stays on the track fine with the battery removed.  I can always add cars to slow it down, but on my tiny layout I like to run with the engine, tender, one car and caboose.  Something I haven't tried yet is adding a weight down low in front.  The front wheel drive does tend to slip without weight in the front.

Was it Hafner that made banked windup track?
