Anybody else getting ready to put on a display this year?
If I can get the wiring streamlined to be a little more travel friendly, I am going to try to display at a Cub Scout Halloween party this year, as well as at the house.

Am working on one...that is a neat haunted house in the left-middle - can you share what brand it is?
That tall one is Lego. Was out a few years ago, hard to find now. The others are lemax and various Knick knacks found through out the year.
Santa gets top priority for holiday-related trains made by manufacturers and placed on layouts of hobbyists, but Halloween is firmly in second place. IMHO, the spookiest night of the year is gaining ground on the red-velvet-clad gentleman in popular culture. Perhaps because kids love the weirdness of Halloween - a holiday that doesn't sermonize about "naughty or nice" as a prerequisite for gift-getting.
Although Linus was perpetually disappointed by the non-appearance of the Great Pumpkin at the pumpkin patch at midnight, the longing for an autumn visitor rests deep within adherents. Secret psycho-commercial market researchers might be the source of ideas to manufacturers as to which Halloween products will capture attention. Although it's not a train, my favorite Halloween item is Lionel's Haunted House accessory with motion, sound, and ghostly decor. It's most effective when the lights are dim in the train room!

After much consternation on exactly how to accomplish that - I finally just rtv'd it down.
It's one thing I am really not happy with and wouldn't do again. The realtrax was available in my piles of stuff, but frankly, just like lionel fast track, its LOUD. I mean really REALLY LOUD. I usually only run this in the garage but have it sent up in the basement for a dress rehearsal of sorts, and the reverb from the realtrax off the rigid foam is ridiculous. I don't have the gumption to change it this year, but if I build another display like this I am going to pay close attention to attenuating the sound so that the emphasis is on the visual or special spooky sounds.
O well, live and learn
Thank you for the info
"I finally just rtv'd it down. " that means you glued it down right ?
