On May 11th and 12th there will be a festival of trains in Grand Central Terminal. Metro-North is having at least 4 tracks at 2 platforms, passenger cars from the past and some from the current roster of M-7s and M-8s electric cars and diesel operated trains on display for inspection. The plan is to have vintage passengers cars that operated on long distance trains in and out of the terminal from when the terminal opened in 1913 thru the 1960s. Last year when Metro-North and Amtrak had National Train day in the terminal they claimed that about 35,000 people walked through the cars on display that day in May.
