I just got in a bunch of 805 couplers. Work has been slow - I’m my own boss - so I’ve been converting up a storm.
I’ve done Atlas, Mth, Lionel, Weaver, Old Metal Kit built cars, K-line, brass cars. This is quite a feet for me bc before a few weeks ago I hadn’t done any.
The most difficult was a mth covered hopper. Learning how to get the coupler off took time. The truck blew apart with springs everywhere. The plastic was also brittle and the end where I was mounting the Kadee shattered. I had to glue it all back together and ended up not converting that end I can now take apart these trucks. So it’s a learning curve. I also was careful to enlarge my holes on the next one so there was very little pressure from the screw on the plastic.
My K-Kine die cast coal car and Atlas boxcars were difficult bc I had to drill metal Plastic is much easier
