I bought an original Harry Potter O scale set on e-bay. When I use the reverse switch it does a forward then natural then forward etc. as the train is started and stopped. The seller says his other Harry Potter train also does this. The directions say it will stay in the same direction as when the switch is set - same as my other Lionel engines (no neutral). Anyone know about this issue? I can't find any mention on line. (I don't think my grandsons will want this.)

John, I just pulled mine out of its box for a test run. If the switch in the cab is set to "on" I get F-N-R-N. With the switch set to "Off" the loco does F-N-F-N.
F-N-F is nice because it allows you to make station stops with the cars illuminated.
My Harry Potter loco does the same thing. Once you have it set in off, tho, it will start in forward after resting for a few seconds, rather than going into neutral.
