Has anyone kitbashed the Lionel Coaling station kit?

i constructed a few of them per the kit instructions but they can easily be kit bashed. The kits are styrene plastic and very easy to modify and add to.

Well, I made a mine tipple out of mine and two Plasticville coaling towers and some HO Grand Central Gems trestle components.  it's packed up right now, but I'll try to get some picks soon.

The late Art Curren of Model Railroader had a Kalmbach book on kit-bashing the coaling tower  into a factory. I took ideas from him.

Used copies always come up.....unfortunately, Mr Curren passed a few years ago. He wrote similar books for the HO market.

My son David kit bashed the Lionel Coaling Station for a coaling area he built for me on my layout when he was in High School several years ago.  He also kit bashed 2 Plasticville coaling towers into one as seen on the right side of one of the attached photos.

Nice Putnam Division! I am looking for some( now wait for it...) "Out of the box" thinking!

Now I do have his book but I don't remember him doing an article on kitbashing the coaling station.
