Has anyone repainted on of the new Williams by Bachmann 44 Tonners? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

The PRND&L would like to add one or two of the Williams by Bachmann 44 Tonners to its roster – but we’re not interested in any of the road names currently available. We’ve noticed a few good deals out there at the moment, and are considering a purchase to repaint.

Has anyone done tried repainting one of these lithe critters? How easy – or difficult are they to take apart for repainting?

Brother Love has converted them to 2 rail and also repainted them, search the 2-rail form for his thread..... Now the power trucks would be great to re-power or power some steeple cabs.....

Easy to repaint, except that the railings are Delrin and so don't hold paint well. I did mine up as Union Freight, a street-running railroad in Boston controlled by the New Haven.

The handrails are VERY fragile, take extra care removing them.
