I tried it.  I'm a little surprised, it actually worked BUT the boiler is at maximum travel and the blind drivers slide off the railhead.  Any imperfection in your track and this is going to derail.  Besides, it really looks stupid.

 

The deck plate does not foul.  Fully into the turn there is still about an 1/8" between the cab floor and the tender apron.

Good to know it works with O-60, and I bet it does look a little goofy.
