Heads Up Indiana for NS First Responders and Ohio for Lehigh Valley

NS First Responders latest location is Wauseon Ohio westbound 3:15PM and Lehigh Valley westbound in Buffalo NY at 4:01PM.

Tom, NS 8100 Nickle Plate heritage unit (leading 23Z, also bound for Chicago) was reported in Mattawana, PA at 1:31PM today.  Any guess whether 8100 will make it to Alliance before nightfall?

Greg, from my exprience of trains along the Pittsburgh Line, Fort Wayne line into the Cleveland Line from Horseshoe Curve trains take 6+ hours to get to Alliance area. So because there hasn't been a report around HC yet, it will be well after dark even when he reaches Ohio.

Thanks for the response, I didn't think so, but was hoping.  Haven't seen 8100 in person yet.

Greg, NKP 8100 just passed through Altoona PA at 4:35PM. So if that's downtown Altoona, it generally takes 20 minutes to get to the curve. So around 4:55 to 5PM he should round the curve. So that puts around 11PM to 1AM at night he'll be through Alliance.

Also you have the HC live railcam.

Apparently with the live Horseshoe Curve railcam, which there is a live chat box to the right, at 4:42PM - 23Z is getting helpers added. So it will be longer to get to the curve.  

Don't think I will catch it this trip.  Oh well, maybe next time. Thanks,

Paul, your welcome. Also I did not see 8104 this evening. I passed because I've already seen 8104 trailing before, but never leading yet. But for the latest location on 911 is Hammond Indiana at 7:56PM and 8104 through Mentor at 7:40PM.
