Anyone familiar with those static 1/50 scale plastic kitrs made by Japanese model manufacturer ARII? Saw a sealed one of a C-51 loco but uncertain whether instructions are in English, Japanese, or merely exploded view diagrams. Know these are super detailed kits with intricate parts but that's all I know so anyone familiar with these models, I'd like to hear your feedback on ease of assembly, etc. An internet search of turned up nothing about their assembly instructions.

I think this is the kit or type of kit you are talking about.

It had easy to understand diagrams was easy to build with some careful work.

It is a display model only. Not going to run or fit over a working chassis.

Be very careful cutting and trimming the plastic piping from the spruces.

It was fun to build.

I found this in a kit at a show and picked it up for perhaps parts.

However Hiro is a character on Thomas the Tank engine and this model I had was close enough to build as a background engine for Thomas displays.

Kids recognize Hiro.
