Just pulled down a pair of 2033's after many (10+) years on the shelf and when I placed them on the track, they would move several inches then stop...   the e-unit and all lights were functioning properly so do not think track power is the issue.

Any ideas on how a non mechanically inclined person (me) can do to get them up and running again?

Walt, since both locomotives are exhibiting a similar problem I agree with RK that a good cleaning and lubrication would solve your problem.  You say the e unit is indexing properly but after sitting 10+ years maybe the e unit contacts need cleaning.

If cleaning an engine or e unit is not your "bag", I see you are a member of TCA and I am sure a fellow member of TCA living in your area who is "up" on cleaning and lubricating engines would be happy to help you.

Good luck,

Jim
